Day 1: Welcome to Negombo, SRILANKA
Your journey commences with a warm welcome upon your arrival at Colombo International Airport, where our representative will be there to greet you. From the airport, we’ll transfer you to the picturesque town of Negombo, which is located about 40 kilometers away and takes approximately 1 hour to reach. After your arrival in Negombo, you’ll check in at your hotel. Later in the day, you’ll enjoy a delightful city tour of Negombo, including visits to the Fish Market, Negombo Town, the iconic Catholic church, and a historic Old Dutch Canal. In Negombo, the wide sandy beaches and serene sea create the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. The most common fishing craft in this area is the outrigger canoe, known as “oruwa,” handcrafted from enormous logs, and you’ll find them aplenty in the Negombo Lagoon. As the day draws to a close, you’ll savor a delectable dinner and retreat to your hotel for a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 2: From Negombo to Anuradhapura and Habarana
Following a hearty breakfast, we set forth on an exciting journey to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a renowned destination located around 170 kilometers away, with an estimated travel time of 3.5 hours. Anuradhapura is celebrated for its remarkably preserved ruins of an ancient Sinhala civilization. Here, you’ll embark on a city tour of Anuradhapura. In the evening, you’ll relish dinner and retire to the comforts of your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Habarana, Sigiriya, and Polonnaruwa Exploration
After a nourishing breakfast, our adventure continues with a visit to the incredible rock fortress of Sigiriya, which is located at a distance of about 45 kilometers, taking approximately 1 hour to reach. Sigiriya, often referred to as the “Lion Mountain,” is a one-of-a-kind testament to the civilization of ancient Ceylon during the reign of King Kassapa I. Following your visit to Sigiriya, you’ll explore Polonnaruwa, which served as the second capital of Sri Lanka. Built during the 11th and 12th centuries A.D, this city is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you explore, you’ll witness the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya, the audience hall, the lotus bath, the Polonnaruwa statue from the 12th century, and the Parakrama Samudra tank. The area also boasts the ruins of famous places of worship, such as the Shiva temple, the Vatadage, and the remains of a former temple of the tooth. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 4: From Habarana to Kandy via Matale
After a hearty breakfast, your journey proceeds towards Kandy, which is situated approximately 95 kilometers away, with an estimated travel time of 3 hours. En route, you’ll visit the Dambulla Rock Temple, which is an incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive cave temple complexes. The complex comprises five caves with over 2,000 square meters of painted walls and ceilings. Within the caves, you’ll discover more than 150 images of Buddha, with the largest being a colossal rock-carved Buddha statue spanning 14 meters. During your journey, you’ll also visit a spice garden to explore the various spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. This enlightening visit will offer insights into how these spices are grown and processed. Your day concludes with dinner and a restful overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: From Kandy to Scenic Nuwara Eliya
Following breakfast, you’ll head to Nuwara Eliya, which is approximately 80 kilometers away, taking around 2.5 hours to reach. Along the way, you’ll visit a tea factory and plantation where some of the world’s finest tea is produced. You’ll have the opportunity to witness the process of manufacturing tea, learn how it is graded, and taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea right there. Upon your arrival in Nuwara Eliya, you’ll check in at your hotel. Later in the day, you’ll embark on a city tour. Known as the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, this region produces 50% of the world’s best tea and is home to Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka’s highest mountain. The city also boasts one of Asia’s most exceptional 18-hole golf courses. Conclude the day with dinner and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: From Nuwara Eliya to Yala’s Wildlife Wonderland

Yala sprawls across an impressive 1259 square kilometers in the southeastern corner of the island. It’s not only the largest national park in Sri Lanka but also a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife. Here, nature enthusiasts can encounter wild elephants, elusive leopards, wild boar, wild buffalo, bears, deer, and even crocodiles. Day 7: Journey to Beruwala via Enchanting Galle
Following a hearty breakfast, our travels lead us to the charming coastal town of Beruwala, covering a distance of around 225 kilometers and taking approximately 3.5 hours to reach. Along the way, you’ll make a stop at the historic Dutch Fort of Galle, an iconic site also known as the “Ramparts of Galle.” While in Galle, you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness “stilt fishing,” a traditional fishing practice that can only be observed in the southern regions of Sri Lanka. This distinctive method involves fishermen perched atop slender sticks planted about 200 meters from the beach, using rods crafted from seasoned dry palm leaves. Day 8: Departure from Colombo International Airport
After a fulfilling breakfast at your hotel, we will arrange your transfer to Colombo International Airport, located around 75 kilometers away, which should take approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes to reach. For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours after booking payment.
In the event of cancellation, Traveler should notify Lotus of India in writing at – least 60 days prior to travel.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made after paid booking before the experience’s start date / time will be subject to modification fees.
If the experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers ( 2 ). If it’s canceled because the minimum wasn’t met, you’ll be offered options and recalculated prices.

Traveling solo traveler and prefer the privacy of your own room, a supplement will be applied to the price of your trip. The cost will depend on your trip and is available on request. If you’d rather not incur the additional expense, consider sharing option to avoid the extras. We’ll advice you if some other solo travelers requesting sharing. We will accommodate you with a fellow guest of the same gender, on a twin-bed basis. Please note that room shares are not valid on all trips.

We recommend bringing at least one credit card plus an ATM card. Try to avoid carrying euro notes larger than €100, as merchants may be hesitant to accept them due to counterfeiting. Limited currency exchange available at all major hotels have exchange facilities. Travelers Checks are not recommended. It’s always a good idea to let your credit card issuer and bank know of your plans to travel abroad so they can expect foreign transactions on your account.
All tour deposits are non-refundable. However, we do offer deposit protection within our company, which means your tour only base deposit can be used toward a future Lotus of India, Lotus of Asia, or Travelonica, a sister tour brands holiday within the next year ( 12 months ).
If your booking is confirmed you will have received an invoice shortly after booking both for tour deposits, and for tours where you’ve paid in full. Please always check your junk, spam, or promotions folder. If any additions and changes to your booking, including any payments made, we will send you an updated invoice.
