Day 1: Welcome to Delhi

Your journey begins as you arrive at New Delhi’s International Airport. After smoothly navigating customs, immigration formalities, and collecting your baggage, our friendly representative will be there to greet you. You’ll then be transferred to your comfortable hotel, where you’ll enjoy a restful overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi Exploration - Old & New

Start your day with a delectable breakfast at the hotel, and get ready for an enriching guided city tour of Delhi. We’ll begin with Old Delhi, visiting significant sites such as Raj Ghat, the revered cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, known as the Father of the Nation. Our next stop is the majestic Jama Mosque, the largest mosque in India. Experience the vibrancy of Chandni Chowk, the bustling heart of the walled city, with an exciting cycle rickshaw ride. As we continue, we’ll drive past the imposing Red Fort, once the opulent residence of the Mughal Empire. In the afternoon, we explore New Delhi, where you’ll witness the impressive Qutub Minar, the elegant Humayun’s Tomb, and have a photo-stop at the iconic India Gate. We’ll also drive by the stately Parliament House, the President House, and the Government Buildings. You’ll spend another relaxing night at the hotel.

Day 3: Delhi to Bagdogra (Flight) & Drive to Darjeeling

After a satisfying breakfast, it’s time to head to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra. Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, our team will be there to assist you, and together, we’ll embark on a scenic drive to the enchanting hill station of Darjeeling. The journey covers approximately 93 kilometers and takes around 3.5 hours. Darjeeling, surrounded by world-renowned tea gardens and snow-capped mountains, is a truly exotic destination. As the day ends, you’ll check in at your hotel, where you can enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 4: Sunrise at Tiger Hill and More

Begin your day with an early morning visit to Tiger Hill, where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunrise over the majestic Himalayan Range, featuring the revered Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest. After this awe-inspiring experience, return to the hotel for breakfast, and later, embark on an exciting toy train ride. This remarkable journey offers a glimpse into a bygone era, as you traverse the stunning landscape aboard the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. Day 5: Darjeeling to Pelling - Into the Mountains

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your hotel, we’ll set off for Pelling, a serene mountain village located about 120 kilometers from Gangtok. Pelling, positioned at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters, offers stunning views of the magnificent Kanchenjunga, lying just 26 kilometers away as the crow flies. At the end of the day’s journey, you’ll check in at your hotel and savor a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 6: Pelling Delights - Monasteries and More

A fresh start with breakfast at the hotel precedes a visit to the enchanting Pemayangtse Monastery. The main attraction of the monastery is a remarkable wooden replica of Zangdog Palri, the celestial abode of Guru Padmasambhava. This masterpiece was constructed by Serdup Lhundrup Dorje Rinpoche in 1971. Exploring Pelling also includes a visit to Rabdentse, Sikkim’s second capital, where you can explore intriguing ruins that hold historical significance. Day 8: Full Day Exploration in Gangtok

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, and then indulge in a comprehensive city tour of Gangtok. Our excursion includes a visit to the mesmerising Rumtek Monastery. Located behind the main monastery is the lavishly adorned Karmae Nalanda Institute of Buddhist Studies, attracting students from across the globe. The Enchey Monastery, perched on a ridge above Gangtok, provides a splendid view of the town from within lush woods. For those interested in Buddhist studies, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, built in traditional style, is a remarkable institution that promotes research in Mahayana Buddhism, as well as the language and tradition of Tibet. It boasts one of the world’s largest collections of rare books and manuscripts related to Mahayana Buddhism. Our day of exploration also covers the Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts, established to promote traditional Sikkimese art and craftsmanship. In the afternoon, we explore Kalimpong, visiting significant places like Flower Nurseries, the Zang Dog Palri Fo-Brang Monastery, Tharpa Choling Monastery, and Thongsa Gumpa. Your night will be spent in comfort at the hotel.

Cancellation and Refunds Policies

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours after booking payment.
  • In the event of cancellation, Traveler should notify Lotus of India in writing at – least 60 days prior to travel.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made after paid booking before the experience’s start date / time will be subject to modification fees.
  • If the experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers ( 2 ). If it’s canceled because the minimum wasn’t met, you’ll be offered options and recalculated prices.
  • A cancellation fee will be charged by Lotus of India for all cancelled bookings, as per the following cancellation terms.
